Daniel trained at the Guildford School of Acting, graduating in 2001 with a BA (Hons).
He was plucked out of college six months early to join the 1st UK national tour of the musical Rent, during which he understudied and played both the leading roles of Angel and Mark. When the tour came into the West End, Daniel was asked to take on the role of alternate Mark and played the part for two shows a week.
Following Rent Daniel joined the cast of the national tour of Sunset Boulevard playing the role of Morino. He then spent twelve months playing Roger in the West End production of Grease, and was lucky enough to travel to Japan with the show for a tour of the Far East. This was swiftly followed by a short stint in pantoland playing Muddles in Snow White at the beautiful Buxton Opera House.
In 2004 he appeared in one of musical theatre’s most coveted roles –Tony- in a European tour of West Side Story. That summer he appeared in a production of Grease in Cyprus, this time playing the role of Doody, and was a featured vocalist in Disney’s Enchanted Evening, a huge outdoor concert which took place in London’s Hyde Park as part of the BBC Proms in the Park season. This was broadcast on BBC1 over the Christmas period.
He then travelled to Scandinavia for another production of Grease, reprising the role of Doody before returning home to play the title role in Jack and the Beanstalk at the Wyvern Theatre, Swindon. Due to his success in this pantomime, he was asked back the following year to play one of his favourite roles, Peter Pan.
In 2006 he had the honour of being chosen to understudy all four parts in the World Premiere of Jeff Wayne’s The War of the Worlds, and he sang in a series of outdoor concerts - The Best of the West End.
Daniel’s television credits include; Blue Peter (BBC1), Children In Need The Musical (BBC1), Party in the Park 2004 (Channel 5) and he can also be seen nightly in an ident on BBC4.
He then headed off on the European tour of the musical Rent playing the role of Mark.
Daniel was then seen on the BBC1 Saturday night TV show Any Dream Will Do where he sang live for the public vote each week and reached the final 6 .
Daniel has recently played Anthony in Sweeney Todd at the Royal Festival Hall from July 5 – 7, with an allstar cast including Bryn Terfel in the title role.
