Guys and Dolls Tour

The setting is the hustle and bustle of New York in 1952. Sky Masterson hits town and falls for a bet with Nathan Detroit, a small-time gambler, that he can take any girl he wants to Havana. When Nathan names Sarah Brown, a beautiful leader of the salvationists at the Save-a-Soul Mission, as the girl he must win, sparks begin to fly…

Tomorrow Morning - Landor Theatre
12th October - 13th November

David will be Musical Director for Tomorrow Morning at the Landor Theatre, Clapham from 12th October until 13th November 2010

Both moving and hilarious, Tomorrow Morning is an intimate four-person musical about two couples and how their stories collide across time. Jack and Catherine are in their late 30s and on the brink of getting divorced; meanwhile John and Kat, who are in their early 20s are getting married.

The production stars Jon Lee & Julie Atherton in this award-winning musical.

Tomorrow Morning was named Best Musical and won the Best Artistic Specialization (Film & Video Design) award - at the 2009 Joseph Jefferson Equity Awards in Chicago. The show won Best Musical - Midsize, alongside Broadway's Caroline, or Change which took the honour for Large musical.

Closer Than Ever - Landor Theatre

David will be Musical Director/Man 3 for the 21st Anniversary Production of Closer Than Ever at the Landor Theatre, Clapham from 14th September until 9th October 2010

Closer Than Ever is a joyous, award-winning musical revue, featuring 25 memorable songs by composers Maltby and Shire, in which they turn an unblinking and frank spotlight on lives and loves, relationships and fantasies, wicked satire and the ache of love unrequited or dimmed by time. Taking Notes - A Summer Course in Contemporary Musical Theatre
26-30 July & 2-6 August

This year, Taking Notes will reunite the original Notes from New York team in the form of Course Director Paul Spicer (Avenue Q), Musical Director David Randall and Julie Atherton who will be our full time Acting tutor.

During week one, the students will be joined by star of Sister Act Patina Miller, who will lead an af...ternoon workshop. Week two will feature a workshop with Tony nominated actor Sam Barnett (History Boys, Mrs Henderson Presents) who has also been part of the Notes family for some time now.

Students will have the rare opportunity to work closely with Notes resident & award winning composer Michael Bruce on some of his brand new material, and the advanced two week students will have time with a professional agent & casting director to really swat up on what is expected and needed from you as a professional performer.

David Randall has co-devised and co-directed the Notes from New York series and will be working in great detail with students on technique, interpretation, choral and solo material featuring music from contemporary musicals such as Next to Normal & Spring Awakening.

Julie Atherton: No Space for Air

David will be Musical Director for West End star Julie Atherton's launch of the eagerly anticipated second album No Space for Air with her first ever solo engagement at London’s exclusive Delfont Room for one night only. Julie Atherton: No Space for Air will showcase songs from the new album in a uniquely intimate setting, offering fans the first opportunity to hear this lauded leading lady cast her genre-defying interpretations on a range of classic tracks and brand new songs penned specially for her voice. The album will be available for the first time on the night.

Fusing an innate theatrical sensibility with a ravishingly raw, angst rock vibe, No Space for Air is a unique and groundbreaking album for the Spring Awakening and Lady Gaga generation. Julie’s musical influences range from Alanis Morrissette and Skunk Anansie to legendary musical theatre composer Stephen Sondheim, leading to a wonderfully eclectic and personal selection of material.

A Spoonful of Stiles & Drewe CD Release

Following its sell-out success as a gala West End concert last year at which David was the Musical Director, A Spoonful of Stiles & Drewe lives on in the form of a live highlights CD recording.

It features Olivier Award winners Stiles & Drewe themselves, fellow Olivier recipients Leanne Jones (Hairspray), Joanna Riding and Clive Rowe, pop star Gareth Gates (soon to play the title role in Joseph), musical theatre stars Julie Atherton (Avenue Q), Helena Blackman (runner-up on How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?), Daniel Boys (I’d Do Anything), Richard Dempsey, James Gillan, Lisa O’Hare (Mary Poppins UK tour), Alison Jiear (Jerry Springer), Shona Lindsay (Aspects of Love), Claire Moore, Caroline Sheen, Scarlett Strallen (Mary Poppins on Broadway), Rebecca Thornhill and Oliver Tompsett (Wicked).
