Whilst appearing in Starlight Express Jason and four of his fellow cast mates joined together to create the boyband E-Male.

They released a single "We are E-male" - co-written by Jason. Jason was also heavily involved with the choreography, with routines undertaken on Roller Skates.

Each of the band members had a nickname beginning with E - Jason was E-Lusive.
