SAMMY

Jason played the role of Joe Grant in this new musical in the UK Tour (2002). He was also Associate Choreographer for the tour.

A thrilling new play with music and tap inspired by the life of Sammy Davis Jr ,the show received it's world premiere as the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds on Tuesday 17th September 2002 and ended it's inaugaral run at the Theatre Royal Stratford East on 23rd November 2002.

The show was produced by Tiata Fahodzi Theatre Company in association with The Sammy Davis Jr Foundation, New York.

The show featured such classic numbers as Lets Face the Music Me and My Shadow, Mr Bojangles and Ol' Man River.

The cast were required to switch between numbers and dance styles in a fast moving ever evolving plot as they auditioned for the role of Sammy Davis and told us more about his life through monologues and questions.
