Shakespeare Celebrations

Jean is the Artistic Director for Shakespeare Celebrations Ltd which undertakes Festival's of the Bard's work.

The Celebrations began in April 2001, just after Shakespeare's Birthday, at the Actors' Church of St. Paul's in Covent Garden. The piece was entitled "A Celebration of William Shakespeare in Words and Music".

"Shakespeare On Love" was the theme in April 2002 with a repeat performance of it in October 2002 across the Piazzo in the Theatre Museum.

The third Annual Bard's Bash in April 2003 had expanded to run over two days and included on the Saturday "Let Us Garlands Bring" Shakespeare's Life and Times featuring the music of Gerald Finzi.

This was followed on Sunday by Shakespeare's Fools and Horses focusing on how the Bard used the character of fool or clown to great effect.

The group's Musical Director is Kelly Chalton who works with Jean and a dedicated cast and creative team (many of whom return each year) to put on the Bard's Bash.
