Karl went to Tunisia to film a new drama Ancient Rome for the BBC/Discovery. The series of 6 x 1 hr episodes and screened in Autumn 2006.

Karl plays Sarus, a Roman Army General in The Fall - Episode 6, which is directed by Arif Nurmohammed.

Episode Synopsis - Born and raised as a Barbarian. He switched sides when he lost the battle to become leader of the Goths to Alaric. They, are bitter enemies, Alaric having killed Sarus's family.

When the Romans elect to sign a peace treaty with Alaric giving him and his people, land. Sarus sets out to ambush Alaric, as rides to sign the peace accord. Sarus is wounded, but the deed is done. Alaric is convinced that Rome has tricked him again and sets out to sack the City. Destroying anyone or thing that stands in his way.
