Ray Gabbard trained in the United States at the College of Idaho and Arizona State University in vocal performance in addition to a Screen Acting Course at The Academy Drama School.
His recent theatre credits include Captain Von Trapp in The Sound of music (Courtyard Theatre), Anthony Hope in Sweeney Todd (Derby Playhouse), The Man in Whistle Down the Wind (UK Tour), Oh, What a Lovely War! (Derby Playhouse) and Demetrius in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Derby Playhouse).
He was recently seen in the US National Tour of The Phantom of the Opera covering and playing both the roles of Raoul and Phantom. He has also performed in both the Broadway and Hamburg casts of Phantom.
Other US credits include: Bobby in Company, Matt in The Fantasticks, Mr. Snow in Carousel and Huck in Big River.
He has performed leading roles with the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players in The Pirates of Penzance, The Mikado and HMS Pinafore. He has also performed extensively in opera in such roles as Fenton in Falstaff, Beppe in I Pagliacci, and Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus.
His solo concert work includes appearances with the Colorado Symphony, Buffalo Symphony and the Boise Philharmonic.
