Writing
Sarah's first play, What You Do To People, was showcased at the Hampstead Theatre and led to her current position as Writer in Residence of The Park Theatre.
For The Park, Sarah has written a new play inspired by stories and characters found in the diverse communities of Finsbury Park.
For 6 months in 2010/2011, Sarah worked with a team of actors on the N4 Stories project, finding characters and gathering stories from the area; between them they talked and listened to around 100 people, from vicars and mosque leaders to Buddhists and Christadelphians; from policemen and cleaners to nurses and rappers. She also flew to Turkey to research the origins of the family she chose to focus on.
Sarah used weekly workshops with the actors to experiment with the stories and devise scenes which she then turned into a full-length play, Closer Than The Jugular, to be performed as part of the opening season of The Park.
Sarah is currently working on a new script with the working title Tonight Is Your Answer.
