A play in one act by David Henry Wilson

In pitch darkness, Fanny tantalisingly offers herself to the audience on the blindest of dates. Frank agrees to take her on, but when the lights go up he finds he has taken on a great deal more than he bargained for. He has been trapped by a monster. But just when it seems that things could not get worse, she stages an astonishing coup de théâtre that turns the whole situation on its head. Hilariously funny, but also deeply disturbing, "Excellent Beauty" challenges all our preconceptions about relations between the sexes.

What the Critics said:

"In "Excellent Beauty", by David Henry Wilson, FANNY (played by Séainín Brennan) lures unsuspecting men into her lair... Frank ends up on a blind date with her he won't forget in a hurry...The acting is marvelous...the script tight, witty and fresh. Try finding that on Eastenders"
Theatre World Internet Magazine

"Séainín Brennan's seductive Irish voice comes out of the dark, accompanied only by a glowing cigarette tip. 'Well' she says, 'am I or aren't I?' Frank the seductee gets to find out.. .Brilliant.. .short on the stage, long in the mind"
Time Out

""Excellent Beauty" opens with the first five minutes spent completely in the dark.. .Fanny, the main character (played by Séainín Brennan) demonstrating how preconception and ingrained prejudice shapes our society. If you are fat, ugly and mad, then you get what you deserve but it is okay to be a thin gorgeous psycho...As far as Fanny is concerned girl power rules as she ties her volunteer down and threatens him with a knife. Great Stuff!"

A Note from the Playwright about Séainín:

I thought you were superb - perfectly cast and immensely talented. You had all of us men squirming and then drooling and you have tremendous presence, plus that irresistible accent! You have star quality.
