MARTIN GUERRE

This historic tale was adapted for the musical stage by Boublil and Schonberg (the musical creators of Les Miserables).

A man returns to his wife after 12 years absence but although he resembles and knows everything about her husband back to childhood, she becomes increasingly suspicious that it is not her husband (Martin Guerre).

When her husband does eventually return the imposter (Arnaud Du Thil) is finally exposed and is executed for his deception.

 

In Martin GuerreSteven featured in the Original London cast and was alternate to Iain Glen in the leading role of Arnaud.

The show had it's World Premiere on 10 July 1996 at the Prince Edward Theatre and Steven continued in the role until January 1997 when he left to join the cast of London's Burning.

Steven also appears on the Original London Cast recording of Martin Guerre
