During 1999/2000 Steven starred in the original London cast of this new Musical.

The musical tells the rags-to-riches and back-again-life story of Sixties pools winner Viv Nicholson.

Steven plays the part of Viv's husband Keith who joins her in her long spending spree before being tragically killed in a car crash.

Produced by Jeremy Sams, the show follows Viv happily torn from her northern mining roots into the splendour of Garforth, New York and then well and truly back again.

Rachel Leskovac starred as the young Viv with Barbara Dickson, as Viv's older self, narrating the whole story.

Steven was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical, for his role in this production and also appears on the original London Cast recording.
